Photo recognition happens on your iPhone. ArtCat doesn’t upload your photo library. Museum lookup uses coarse location areas, while your detailed photo and visit records stay on your device.
Do I need to add museums by hand?
ArtCat looks at location information already attached to the photos you allow it to access, then suggests matching museums. You can explore the results in the app.
Does ArtCat upload my photos?
No. ArtCat processes your photo library on your iPhone. It contacts the museum catalog using coarse location areas to find possible museum matches.
Can I search my artworks?
Yes. You can search your museum collection and text ArtCat recognizes in artwork and label photos.
Is ArtCat available on Android?
ArtCat is currently made for iPhone.
